How could I have an item appraised online?
After purchasing any of our services —choosing the option of basic valuation, express basic valuation, valuation, express valuation, report and/or express report—, you will receive a link to the relevant form(s) for filling in including as much information as possible. Upon receipt of your form(s), we will proceed to analyse it(them) and respond by sending the requested document(s) within the specified deadline(s) for each service.
How could I have an investment advice online?
After purchasing any of our services —choosing the option of investment advice 1RG, 2RG, 3RG, 4RG, 5RG or 10RG—, you will receive a link to the relevant form(s) for filling in including as much information as possible. Upon receipt of your form(s), we will proceed to analyse it(them) and respond by sending the requested document(s) within the specified deadline(s) for each service.

What is the purpose of a valuation and/or report?
Understanding the features of a valuable object in ownership and its estimated market value and current average price may be useful in the context of an inheritance, in anticipation of a sale, for insurance coverage, and other purposes.
What is the purpose of an investment advice?
To guide you in your decision-making process when investing in an artwork, antique, or collectible item, throughout a comprehensive study.
What is the accuracy of an online valuation?
The valuation or report requested will be based on the images and information provided by the customer and complemented and contrasted with specialised sources. Therefore, the appraisal is truthful. However, it is important to consider that this does not constitute proof of authentication.
What is the accuracy of an investment advice?
The investment advice requested will be based on the information provided by reliable art databases, auctions houses results, price yearbooks, specialised annual market reports, among others, considering the features provided by the customer through the sent form.

What is a basic valuation?
A basic valuation is a brief estimate of the object to be valued, based on the initial information and images provided by the customer and contrasted with specialised sources, which includes all or part of the following aspects, depending on the object type and the reliable information available: title/denomination, authorship/production centre, manufacture location, date, materials, dimensions, images. As a conclusion, a suggested current market price is provided. The length of this document is usually 1 page.

What is a valuation?
A valuation is a simplified analysis of the object to be valued, based on the initial information and images provided by the customer and contrasted with specialised sources, which includes all or part of the following aspects, depending on the object type and the reliable information available: category, type, inventory identification, title/denomination, authorship/production centre, manufacture location, date, materials, dimensions, description, heraldry, signatures/marks/stamps, inscriptions, images. As a conclusion, up to two-three of the following estimates are provided: 1) the price range the item could reach at auction in the country where it is located, 2) the price range the item could reach at international auction, and 3) a suggested current price. The length of this document is usually 1 to 2 pages, depending on the item and the collected information.
What is a report?
A report is an in-depth study developed with the support of specialised sources, based on the initial information and images provided by the customer and contrasted with specialised sources, which includes all or part of the following aspects, depending on the object type and the reliable information available: category, type, inventory identification, title/denomination, authorship/production centre, manufacture location, date, provenance, exhibitions, materials, dimensions, description, conservation status, heraldry, signatures/marks/stamps, inscriptions, images and reasoned valuation. As a conclusion, up to two-three reasoned estimates are provided, of the following, with reference pieces (similar to the one analysed): 1) the price range the item could reach at auction in the country where it is located, 2) the price range the item could reach at international auction, and 3) a suggested price. The length of this document is usually more than 7 pages, depending on the item and the collected information.
What is an investment advice?
An investment advice service for art, antiques and/or collectibles is a study that analyses the auction market based on your search requirements in order to guide you before you make an investment. To this end, by completing the form accessible after paying for the service, you must provide us with the following essential information: minimum purchase amount, maximum purchase amount, category (fine arts, decorative arts, collectibles) and comments. The optional fields are: subcategory, type of object, location, style/school/artistic movement, date, size, main material, author/production centre/factory/brand name. The document you will receive includes several informative sections such as the author's biography/history of the production centre/factory/brand, explanation of the collection/series/production period/type of object, analysis of previous auction prices, analysis of indicative prices for future auctions, directory of selected pieces (location, auction house, contact details, purchase commissions, etc. ), and a section with tips on how to avoid fakes. Each group of results offers you up to a maximum of 10 items in future auctions. This number will vary depending on the located items.
In which languages is the basic valuation, valuation, report and investment advice available?
Up to two. The languages offered are English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. Depending on the number of languages chosen, different fares are offered.
Which objects do we value/advice?
Artworks: paintings, sculptures, graphic works, engravings, etc.; decorative arts: furniture, glass, ceramics, porcelain, silver, clothing, carpets, etc.; collectors' items: books, coins, toys, instruments, etc. Jewelry is not valued.

How can I verify the authenticity of an item?

Do you provide authentication proofs?
No, we don't. We only provide valuations, reports and investment advice on the basis of the initial information submitted by our customers and contrasted and completed with specialised sources.

Does your valuation and reports are official and valid for all purposes?
Our training and experience enable us in providing the valuations and reports you request from us. We hold membership of the Asociación Nacional de Tasadores, Peritos y Mediadores (National Association of Valuers, Experts and Mediators).

Which training does Morgan&Morris?
Diverse training comprising seminars, postgraduate courses and master's degrees at the following institutions:

Do you attend for on-site valuations?
Currently, we do not. We only issue online valuations and reports on the basis of the initial information submitted by our customers and contrasted and completed with specialised sources by filling in the forms available through the links provided.

How are market prices estimated?
In order to determine a price or a price range close to market reality, a search is undertaken for similar objects, which serve as reference items, in auctions, physical or virtual shops, among others.

Could Morgan&Morris help me sell my appraised items?
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer this service, as it is our policy not to manage the sales of our customers' items, in order to offer a neutral and independent service to the market. However, we can offer expert advice on the most suitable option(s) for you, depending on the location where your item could be sold for the best price.

How could I pay for your services?
Please note that payment is to be made in advance of the selected service(s). The options available for payment are credit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

What if I need to value or request a report or an investment advice on more than three objects?
When ordering four or more units for the same type of service, a 10% discount will be applied to all purchased units for the same service.

Following payment for the contracted services, what steps are required to communicate the details of the object(s)?
Once payment has been processed, you will receive an email to the address you provided with a link to access the relevant form(s) within 20 calendar days. Please ensure that all necessary data for the item(s) is included ––either for basic valuation, valuation, report or investment advice––. If you have not received this message, please check your spam folder. In the event that you are unable to locate our message, please contact us via e-mail at morganandmorris@morganandmorris.com, quoting your order number.

Please note that 1 purchased basic valuation = 1 object to be valued = 1 basic valuation form to be completed.
If you are interested in requesting the basic valuation for more objects, you should select and purchase as many basic valuation units as objects to be valued. That is, for example: 4 objects to be valuated = 4 basic valuations purchased = 4 separate basic valuation requests completed.
It is not allowed to enter more than one object on the same basic valuation form.
Please remember to indicate in the form the language(s) in which you would prefer to receive the basic valuation, as well as to include clear images and truthful information, and to mention your order number.

Please note that in the case of the investment advice service the number of results per group will depend on the items published in future located auctions. We do not guarantee a minimum number of results, but we will endeavour to provide the best information possible in response to your request.
Morgan&Morris reserves the right to refuse any customer request that contravenes our Terms and Conditions.

In which cases does a full or partial refund of the payment made take place (basic valuation, valuation and report cases)?
In the event Morgan&Morris does not carry out the valuation or report for the following reasons:

Due to object rarity, absence of specialised sources, level of deterioration, poor quality of the images and/or initial information provided, or any other reasons determined by Morgan&Morris. In these cases, we will refund 100% of the affected object received amount. In other words, if you placed an order for valuation and/or report of one or more objects and one or more of them was/were non-valuable, Morgan&Morris will only refund the amount corresponding to the non-valuable object(s).

If the delivery time published on the purchase page is not met, the customer will be contacted by e-mail in order to propose the following options:

Complete refund of the amount corresponding to the object(s) not valued and its reimbursement by the payment method used.

Agreement to the new delivery date proposed by Morgan&Morris.

Refunds are generally credited to original payment method within 5 to 10 days after approval of your refund request.

In which cases does a full or partial refund of the payment made take place (investment advice cases)?
In the event Morgan&Morris fails to provide an investment advice for the following reasons, the payment may be refunded in full or in part:

Due to the impossibility of meeting your requirements will we contact you to propose a change to the initial characteristics in order to carry out the study or, if you are not interested, proceed with the refund of your purchase.

In the event of non-compliance regarding the delivery time published on the purchased service webpage, the customer will be contacted by e-mail in order to propose the following options:

Complete refund of the amount corresponding to the purchased investment advice service and its reimbursement by the payment method used.

Agreement of the new delivery date we will propose to you.

Refunds are generally credited to original payment method within 5 to 10 days after approval of your refund request.

In which cases may the total or partial refund of the payment made not take place?

If we have not received the completed form(s) for any item(s) within 20 days from the date of payment reception, the customer may not request a complete or partial refund of the order amount.

If Morgan&Morris delivers the order placed by the customer within the deadlines established in the purchased services information, the complete or partial refund of the order amount may not be requested. In order to respond to request(s) correctly and as soon as possible, the customer should have sent the form(s) promptly and in advance within 20 days after order payment.

Within which period of time is the price indicated in the valuation or report valid?
It depends on the intended use of the valuation or report, or on the recipient entity, however we recommend updating the economic estimates, at least, every 12 months, as market conditions are always changing, both globally and nationally.

How would I receive the basic valuation, valuation, report and/or investment advice?
You will receive the document in .pdf format, by e-mail, according to the information you have provided in the application form, as well as the invoice.

Within what timeframe(s) should I receive the requested basic valuation(s), valuation(s), report(s) and/or investment advice?
Two delivery times are offered depending on the type of service contracted as specified below:

For the products 1-language basic valuation,2-languages basic valuation, 1-language valuation, 2-languages valuation, 1-language report, 2-languages report, 1-language investment advice, 2-languages investment advice: the delivery time in all cases will be 1-30 working days (from Monday to Friday), both inclusive, starting from the reception of your duly completed application form.
- ​For the products 1-language express basic valuation, 2-languages express basic valuation, 1-language express valuation, 2-languages express valuation, 1-language express report, 2-languages express report: the delivery time in all cases will be 1-10 working days (from Monday to Friday), both inclusive, starting from the reception of your duly completed application form.

What information should I include in the description of my object?
Please include as much information as possible. The more information you may have, the more accurate your valuation or report will be. Particularly important are: measurements, markings, inscriptions, signatures, condition status and provenance (the ownership/sale history of the item). Additional information about the artist, date, country or region of origin and so forth would also be highly appreciated. Any information unknown to you, please indicate it in the corresponding response field(s).
What information should I include in the description of my investment?
Please provide us with the following essential information: minimum purchase amount, maximum purchase amount, category (fine arts, decorative arts, collectibles) and comments. The optional fields are: subcategory, type of object, location, style/school/artistic movement, date, size, main material, author/production centre/factory/brand name.

How could I be sure that the images of my object are well taken (basic valuation, valuation, and report cases)?
Below are several tips: avoid shaky images, select an appropriate background (contrasting with the object and neutral), use natural light when taking the image avoiding reflections or shadows on the object, do not use flash; if possible and without damaging the object, remove dust and dirt before photographing as it is important to appreciate all possible details of the object; photograph the item on all sides and angles, and avoid out-of-focus images; take photographs of all signatures, marks, stamps, serial numbers, inscriptions, heraldic shields, etc.; document any damage; do not use photo filters, always send several images and, in the case of paintings, always remember to photograph the signature and the back as this often contains essential information.​
